 Congregation’s Testimonies – How we found Jesus:

A Testimony for Christ:

Sandra Haddad  image003

I was born to a Catholic Lebanese father, and Greek Orthodox Jordanian mother, and we lived the majority of my childhood in Saudi Arabia. I was a teenager when I came to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.  I was very shy and quite.  I was a pretty good child and always obeyed my parents, and prayed to God.  As the Lord opened the door for my family to leave the Middle East and come to live in the United States, I was not aware that in this place the Lord was going to start a new life within me.
I attended church with my family, and one day the Lord lead us to go to Sagemont Baptist Church in Pasadena.  For the first few weeks I would think about and consider Pastor John Morgan’s call, which he gave weekly, asking  if any wanted to come forward and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.  Following the main service was the youth Sunday school program.  Every Sunday they asked us, “If you died today, do you know where you will go?”.  I was a good kid, but I did not know how to answer this question.  I did not have assurance of where I was going after death.  That question kept me thinking.  I am good, but I am not without sin.  Where can I hide my sins from God.
Then one Sunday as I listened to Pastor John Morgan ask the congregation, “if anyone want to take Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, come to the front”.  At that moment, I felt as though something from the back was pushing me, I turned to look behind me, but no one was there.  Then I felt this strange desire in my heart to want to go forward and take Jesus.  So I did.  As soon as I reached the front, a nice lady prayed with me.  Tears started to flow which I could not contain, recognizing that I am a sinner, and the most Holy God was accepting me as I am.  Feeling His Holy Presence overwhelmed me.
Later, as I grew in my faith through reading the Bible and talking to God daily, my life started to change.  Being transformed into the image of my Father, Jesus, who is living inside of me.  My passion is to love Him more and live out His commandments.  I want to share the good news that He paid the debt for our sins so we can have life eternal with Him.  Resting in the knowledge that my eternity is not based on my variable performance, but it is secure based on His Word.
He washed me white as snow, and set me free from all  bondage.  Every day He walks with me, and talks with me.  Not even death can separate me from the love of God, which I found in Jesus Christ.   In Romans 8:35 it says that nothing can separate us from His love.
Every Sunday at Sagemont they would play this hymn:
I surrender all, I surrender all,
All to Thee, my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.
All to Jesus, I surrender;
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live.
